Meet the Author
Hi! I'm Peighton Marsh, a Connecticut author, and the writer behind Gifts From Crows, On Copper Wires, and Tell Us We’re Human.
(and the upcoming game Centrifuged. Bet you didn’t know that!)
I've always believed the best stories are the ones that aren't afraid to get a little messy. The ones where people make mistakes, carry invisible battles, and find hope in unexpected places. As someone living with bipolar disorder and OCD, I'm passionate about writing stories that explore mental health with honesty and a little whimsy. Because you have to, right?
Fiction has always been a place where I could feel understood, and I hope my stories offer that same feeling to someone else.
When I'm not writing, you'll probably find me revisiting the stories that shaped my childhood. Guardians of Ga'Hoole, Cirque du Freak, or The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness never seem to get old. I have a habit of disappearing down fantasy lore rabbit holes (any ASOIAF fans?) and happily losing entire evenings to playing Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption 2, Fable, and Torchlight. If a world is rich with hidden details and strange little corners to explore, I will find every single one.
I also have a soft spot for the weird and overlooked. That includes my tiny colony of ten pet beetles, who are every bit as fascinating as they sound.
Outside of writing, I work as an elementary school paraprofessional and am pursuing my degree in early childhood education. Teaching has become one of the greatest joys of my life— not just because I love helping kids learn, but because I want every child who walks into my classroom to know that it’s safe to be curious, creative, a little weird, and completely themselves. Sometimes all it takes is one adult who celebrates who you are instead of asking you to be someone else.
Whether I'm building fantastical worlds or writing characters who stumble and keep going anyway, my hope is always the same: to tell stories that make people feel seen.
Because the most meaningful stories aren't the sugar-coated fairytales— they're the ones honest enough to remind us that we're never truly alone.
